Femi Ogunrinde will bring his knowledge, experience and passion to City Council as a servant-leader. A well-known leader and cross-cultural bridge builder who has lived in Regina for more than 20 years, Femi believes in the power of connecting communities as we welcome more newcomers and resources to our thriving city. The face of our city is changing, and this change must be managed to accommodate the needs of all citizens, so that Regina can continue to prosper and grow.
As your Ward 6 Councillor, Femi will focus on housing, transportation, recreational opportunities and infrastructure. He is committed to being an accessible, open and honest listener, a collaborative consensus-builder, and to bring your voice to City Council.
Femi has diverse experience spanning an impressive 37 year career:
Femi holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with the University of Liverpool, England. He recently completed the Chartered Director’s program at the Director’s College through McMaster University to strengthen his ability to be an effective Councillor.
Passionate About Community
Femi is well known and respected within the community as a leader and a bridge-builder. He serves on the board of a number of for-profit and non-profit organizations. He and his wife, Remi, are Senior Pastors of Lighthouse To All Nations, a thriving multi-national and multi-racial congregation in Regina. He is also CEO of Dazog Overseas Education, responsible for recruiting international students for more than 10 universities in Canada. Femi has been involved in leading compassionate humanitarian work to the poor, the underprivileged, the oppressed, the abused and abandoned in Canada and beyond.
Femi came to Regina 22 years ago on a Fellowship from the United Nation’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He and Remi have been married for 30 years, and are blessed with three daughters who have all graduated from the University of Regina, who are now pursuing further training and career development all over the world.
