About Femi Ogunrinde

PASSIONATE - EXPERIENCED - COMPASSIONATE - PRAGMATIC

Femi is a respected community and visionary leader. With over three decades of combined experience in diverse fields of faith, board governance, management, public policy, and leadership, Femi is an accomplished educator, business owner, chartered director, and President/CEO of a number of nonprofit organizations.
 
Femi and his wife, Remi, are Senior Pastors of Lighthouse to All Nations, a thriving multi-national and multi-racial congregation in Regina. He is also CEO of Dazog Overseas Education, responsible for recruiting international students for more than 10 universities in Canada. Femi has been involved in leading compassionate humanitarian work to the poor, the underprivileged, the oppressed, the abused and abandoned in Canada and beyond.

Femi came to Regina over 26 years ago on a Fellowship from the United Nation’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He and Remi have been married for over 33 years. He believes that strong families make strong communities.  He is a strong advocate for education, youth employment and training, safety, good public services, housing and defending rights of renters and owners. Femi and Remi are blessed with three daughters who have all graduated from the University of Regina, and who are now serving in their chosen fields of Medicine, development policy and practice and Engineering.

Educated
Femi holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology, and is a doctoral candidate in Business Administration with the School of Management of the University of Liverpool, England. He is a Chartered Director (C.Dir) having graduated from Canada's Gold standard in Governance Education through De Groote School of Business of  McMaster University to strengthen his ability to be an effective Councillor.

Pragmatist

  • Femi and his church community renovated and refurbished the old Empringham’s restaurant and the adjoining Old Pizza place in Ward 6 into useable place of gathering, community events, office spaces, and livable apartment over the last 17 years. Through our efforts we are contributing to the revitalization of the neighbourhood and reclaiming an environment known for prostitution, drug use and disposed needles and making it safe and clean.
  • Restoration of families and marriages.
  • Educational and career guidance for young people within the community.
 
Volunteer
 
Femi has been involved in a number of nonprofit organizations in Regina and the Province, including:
  • Board of Souls Harbour Mission (Before it became Souls Harbour Rescue Mission). 
  • Board of Witness to All Nations -fund raising events through Witness Promotions for flood victims as well as quarterly musical events that raised money in support of a number of nonprofit organizations in the Ward.
  • Board of Saskatchewan College of Opticians.
  • Board of Nigeria-Canada Forum-a member driven nonprofit organization committed to fostering trade, investment and bilateral relationships between Nigeria and Canada,
  • Co-Founder, Futures Institute for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development (FIELD)- a Regina-based entrepreneurship and leadership development organization dedicated to raising and empowering young and emergent leaders.
